That morning
he knocked a
jar over.
Toast-flecked
honey inched
across the
breakfast table
like dense
sunlight;
anyone else
would have scooped it back in,
ashamed to
waste
in a gnawed up
world.
Yet he let it
spill,
washed out the
jar
poured in new
amber
a slow coming sweetness,
a kiss.
