Ernest Borgnine Has Died

Sad news.  One of the great American character actors, and perhaps the most infamously unlikely Oscar winners, Ernest Borgnine, has died.  I loved him in The Poseidon Adventure, where his streetwise, pugnacious cop reveals a sweet streak for his hooker-turned-wife, and ends up heart-rendingly bereaved.  Borgnine could do pathos, comedy and action like no one else - the true Everyman.
Angry at the preacher
